How to Organize Guest Seating at Your Wedding

Managing the seating arrangements for guests is always a complicated task, so we're going to give you some tips that can be very useful and enlightening.

The aunt and uncle who never got along, the couple who split up last year and the single friend who doesn't want to feel left out. Relationships are complicated, which often makes organizing your wedding venues even more difficult. Here are some of the essential things to consider to make sure everything ends on the best note.

1. The Importance of the Seating Plan

Sometimes it can seem easier if you don't have a seating plan, but there are several reasons why this piece is essential.
Firstly, guests will know precisely where to move and sit, which will help to organizing your wedding smoothly and efficiently.
This way you'll have more control over who sits where. As well as preventing anyone from being left alone, older guests can sit at a table near the bride and groom or in the entertainment area, so that they can see and hear better. These are just a few suggestions you can follow to make everyone feel comfortable on the day.

2. Main table

Weddings are all different and there isn't necessarily a set of 'rules' regarding the bride and groom's table. However, the traditional organization can be a useful starting point when deciding where this main table is best placed. If it works best in a certain way at your wedding, it's the right decision.
There are several options, for example, you can mix things up and do something completely different, sometimes the bride and groom sit without any other company at the main table, but they can also be accompanied by their parents and even share the table with other guests such as their godparents, parents and siblings.
It all comes down to what makes the most sense to you.

3. Kids' table

If you decide to invite children to your wedding party, a children's table can be a great strategy to ensure that the youngest guests have fun.
You can provide educational games and board games, you can put sweets and drawing materials on the table and you can prepare a menu suitable for children, which is also sometimes more economical when it comes to calculating the cost of the menu. If you have this idea in mind, it's important to talk to the children's parents beforehand to see if they agree with the idea and to find out which dishes they like and if they have any dietary restrictions.

4. Conflicting relationships

There are often family conflicts or friends who have split up, and it's very important to take this into account when organizing the tables. In some cases, it can be good to have their names together on the same table, and in other cases, it's better to separate people to make sure everyone feels comfortable.
Normally, there is enough space for the tables to be sufficiently separated so that these guests don't see each other and don't interact if they want to.
If complicated relationships are affecting the head table, be sure to find a solution. You can choose to put your name and your partner's name alone on the table, as they will then socialize with the guests for the remaining moments. Emotions run high at weddings, and managing complicated relationships can be the most challenging part of planning.

5. Names or Table Numbers

Once you've decided where each guest will sit, give each table a name or number to make it easier to identify them. You should display the identification piece on the seating plan and on the corresponding table. Another task consists of deciding on table names or numbers and can be a fun part of the organization phase. The choice is usually linked to the theme you have defined for your wedding and if you choose numbers, they should certainly look like part of your table decoration.

6. Placeholders

The elegant cards are placed at the guests' place so that when they find their table, they can quickly find their place without any mistakes.
As well as being a matter of organization, it looks good aesthetically and is a great decorative element dedicated to your guest.
The choice of cards shows extra care on the part of the bride and groom and demonstrates that the wedding has been organized and thought out in detail.

7. Seating Plan

A seating plan can complement your theme in terms of color scheme and can match the rest of the stationery and table decorations. This will be one of the first things your guests see when they arrive at the venue.
There are various techniques to help you be creative in the arrangement and use of the seating plan. Some techniques might be to display a painting propped up on an artistic easel, or to display individual cards on a mirror or suspended from strings and attached by personalized springs.

8. The solutions pergaminho offers

There are countless original ideas for developing an original seating plan.
You can find a solution with your decorator for applying personalized cards, or you can opt for another solution such as an acrylic frame, a personalized wooden placard with a rope and cards, a pvc board with the seating arrangements for the tables or even a canvas.
